Button Writer Prompt Book

Craft 7/365. Button Book

Wanting to create something easy to carry in my pocket, I found a couple of buttons approximately 1.5 inches in size and covered each one with a plain piece of fabric. Then, I folded a piece of A3 paper (rather large, but necessary to avoid joining the links when folding the paper). I then selected a series of action verbs for one side of the concertina pages and nouns for the reverse. Finally, with a black pen, I doodled a small picture to illustrate the nouns and then glued the end pages to the buttons. The book craft students will hopefully enjoy having a go at making a miniature button book … Who knows, it might even encourage them to extend their vocabulary verb bank!

I also painted a series of images involving the capture and release of a canary with the word ‘freedom’ spelt out on the back.
